The people won’t stand for it any longer: Trump dismisses National Archives find

Former President of the U.S. Donald Trump claimed that the National Archives found nothing in documents taken from his Florida home. He stated that allegations that, while in the White House, he was working in a filing room were false.

On Friday, Trump’s spokesperson Liz Harrington issued a statement calling the retrieval of approximately 15 boxes packed with records from his Mar-a-Lago estate during a routine process. According to U.S. Archivist David Ferriero, some of the records were marked as classified. The substance of the classified documents was not disclosed by the National Archives, and it is unclear whether the Department of Justice will launch a formal investigation into Trump’s handling of the information, as reported.

According to The Washington Post, part of the documents confiscated from Mar-a-Lago were so-called “love letters” from North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un to the former President. The National Archives, on the other hand, has not validated this.

After the routine process, Trump issued a statement where he claimed that he handed Presidential Records that were in line with the Presidential Records Act. Trump said that if the incident hadn’t included him, it wouldn’t have made the headlines. He went on to say that Democrats were just looking for their next scam. Donald Trump was referring to the deliberate fabrication of evidence linking him to Russia during his 2016 presidential campaign.

The former President went on to claim that he had more important things on his mind, such as the ISIS crisis, the U.S. economy and the potential attack on Ukraine. Without mentioning President Joe Biden’s name, the former President made a brief speech criticizing his administration. He discussed the economy, COVID-19 regulations, Ukraine’s predicament, and the southern border.
