Mitch McConnell announces return to senate amid retirement rumors

In a tweet, Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY), who serves as the Senate Minority Leader, announced that he will resume in-person work next week after being hospitalized for a concussion in March. The 81-year-old Senator expressed his eagerness to tackle important issues and win big fights for the benefit of Kentuckians and the American people.

McConnell had been working remotely from home since he was released from an inpatient physical rehabilitation center on March 25. His injuries, which included a concussion and minor rib fracture, were sustained after he tripped and fell at a dinner event for the Senate Leadership Fund, a GOP super PAC, on March 8. He spent several days in the hospital and over a week at the rehabilitation facility, as confirmed by his office, reported NBC News.
