During a speech, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis ripped into President Joe Biden, as he wished “the United States of America a speedy recovery” from his presidency. Fox News reported that, while speaking at Turning Point USA Student Action Summit, DeSantis took a shot at Biden, where, during his fiery address, he likened the president’s leadership to “a deer in the headlights” who reads from a teleprompter.
Also, the Florida governor, who is currently a leading Republican candidate to make a run at the White House in 2024, slammed Biden on his approach to energy and immigration policies, saying: “He came in and cranked the printing presses, kneecapped American energy, and he also opened our southern border.”
“And what we’ve seen in the last year and a half is the largest illegal migration into this country in the history of the United States of America. We have record human trafficking, we have record trafficking, and we have record drug trafficking,” DeSantis added.
DeSantis also wished the president a “speedy recovery,” despite the harsh criticism he made. President Biden tested positive just one day after giving a gaffe-filled speech that spurred health concerns and less than a week after returning from meetings in Saudi Arabia with killer Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.
Biden “is currently experiencing mild symptoms, mostly rhinorrhea (or ‘runny nose’) and fatigue, with an occasional dry cough, which started yesterday evening,” the president’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor said.
The same day, Biden tweeted a photo of himself, writing: “Folks, I’m doing great. Thanks for your concern. Just called [Pennsylvania Sen. Bob] Casey, Congressman [Matt] Cartwright, and [Scranton] Mayor [Paige] Cognetti (and my Scranton cousins!) to send my regrets for missing our event today. Keeping busy!”
Referencing Biden’s coronavirus diagnosis, DeSantis said: “I must say he did test positive for C-VID. And I want to, on the behalf of the state of Florida, wish President Biden a speedy recovery from C-VID.”
Including his ban on critical race theory and the so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill that bans discussion of s-xual orientation and gender identity in schools, the Sunshine State governor also touted his state’s response as well as a slew of laws he passed combating “woke ideology.”
“We make sure in Florida, we do not use our tax dollars to teach our kids to hate this country or to hate each other on the basis of race,” said DeSantis. The woke culture has gone so far as to infiltrate the military, the Navy veteran said. “They’re more apt to be talking about pronouns than they are about winning wars,” DeSantis said.
