Former Vice President and top Democrat candidate for president, Joe Biden, now faces accusations from at least seven women who claim he inappropriately touched them.
Tara Reade posted a video on social media telling her story and at least three other women have spoken out since the disturbing video was posted.
Biden has a reputation of smelling people in public and getting too close and touchy-feely. He has acknowledged that he gets too close, but that hasn’t actually stopped him from continuing to do it. Now he’s facing accusations from seven women and it remains unclear if more will speak out against the former VP.
At one point, Joe Biden kissed a college grad, clearly without permission, and it was caught on video.
As pointed out on Yahoo News, some of the accusations against Joe Biden include a variety of inappropriate handling. “The gestures the women recalled include inhaling the hair of former Nevada lawmaker Lucy Flores and kissing the back of her head; rubbing noses with former political aide Amy Lappos; resting his hand on the thigh of sexual assault survivor Caitlyn Caruso during an event on sexual assault at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and hugging her “just a little bit too long”; and, last but most likely not least, dropping his hand down the back of writer D. J. Hill at a fundraising event in Minneapolis.”
Biden did pledge to be more mindful, but it doesn’t appear to have helped much. Perhaps social distancing will stop him from sniffing people, but even that’s debatable.
The Washington Post released a report on him, about three more women who made accusations against Joe Biden.
“Vail Kohnert-Yount was a White House intern when, she said, Biden introduced himself to her in the basement of the West Wing and “put his hand on the back of my head and pressed his forehead to my forehead while he talked to me.”
Kohnert-Yount in a statement said, “I was so shocked that it was hard to focus on what he was saying. I remember he told me I was a ‘pretty girl.’”
Sofie Karasek said had clasped “her hands and leaning down to place his forehead against hers.”
Ally Coll said Biden “leaned in, squeezed her shoulders and delivered a compliment about her smile, holding her ‘for a beat too long.”
