Trump video with over 8 million views has incorrect Nobel Peace Prize medal

President Donald Trump posted a video on his Twitter feed that says “Trump stands for peace” and shows what appears to be the medal used for the peace prize. This part of the video seems like an attempt to either imply he won the Nobel Peace Prize or simply indicate that he was nominated. It’s unclear and appears to be left for the viewer to craft their own interpretation of the imagery.

However, there’s one big problem. Trump’s video used the wrong medal. The medal that Trump’s video used, which was viewed by over 8 million people, was actually something quite different. It was similar, yet still incorrect and appears that whomever made the video did not perform the needed research to find the correct medal.

John Kraljevich stated the following about Trump’s popular video, saying “Professional medal guy here. I’ve actually catalogued/authenticated a Nobel Peace Prize before (it brought over a million bucks at auction). That’s not even a Nobel Peace Prize. The medal depicted is awarded for physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, and literature. Idiot.

David Gura posted, saying thevideo President Trump tweeted today features the Nobel Peace Prize superimposed over photographs of him with the prime minister of Israel, and the foreign ministers of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. A REMINDER: The president has not been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Trump was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by a Norwegian politician, but the president did not win the actual Nobel Peace Prize.
