A Philadelphia-bound American Airlines flight was met by a heavy emergency response at London’s Heathrow Airport after the crew was forced to return shortly after takeoff due to a suspected mechanical issue.
The Boeing 787-9 had just cleared England’s southern coast Monday afternoon when pilots turned the aircraft back toward Heathrow, according to flight trackers.
