Republican Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz were forced to abandon forced to abandon their own press conference as protesters stormed the area and completely disrupted the scene.
Both Gaetz and Greene had walked out of the area and left the scene, with video showing them approaching vehicles.
The presser was in support of prisoners locked up because of the January 6 incident at the US Capitol, and speaking out against the treatment they are allegedly enduring.
Several Capitol riot suspects have supposedly complained about the treatment they’re receiving while locked up in the slammer, so the House Republicans were trying to address that, but protesters showed up and completely drowned them out from speaking.
One of the protesters busted out a whistle and kept blowing it. Other protesters were simply making lots of noise. Gaetz and Greene couldn’t really be heard or get any more words in without the disruption going away, and there wasn’t any sign of that happening, so both Reps. fled the scene like Democrats running away from quorum in Texas.
The lawmakers were then walking away while they had security nearby to keep them safe, and some reporter was chasing down Gaetz asking him some questions, which can be heard in the video below.

This was quite a conundrum and somewhat embarrassing of the people yelling at them. If the Republican reps want to speak, then let them speak. Ruining their presser just makes the other side look bad and immature.
If that was the other way around, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had her presser completely disrupted to the point she had to leave with security, then it would be all over the left wing news.
Rachel Maddow would be having a cow over it.
It just shows how far we’ve fallen in terms of respecting others and letting them speak their mind. The protesters couldn’t even let them talk, which was just not a good sign for the direction of America. We’re supposed to be united and respectful, so where’s the decency?
Stop blowing a whistle during someone’s press conference just because you don’t like what they say.
If you don’t like them or their words, then don’t show up. Go do something else.
It’s like when you hear a song on the radio that you don’t like. What do you do? You change the channel and don’t listen to it.
So if there’s a politician coming to town who you don’t like, then don’t go see them talk and don’t bother protesting.
An empty crowd will speak volumes about someone’s popularity. Just look at Joe Biden’s CNN half-empty town hall event.
Joe Biden is the President of the United States and my kid’s dance recital had more people in attendance than his town hall did.
You know why? Because people don’t care what this blabbering vegetable has to say, and they either didn’t go or weren’t allowed to go (not sure if CNN capped the audience, but I strongly doubt it).
And if you don’t care what Matt Gaetz or Marjorie Taylor Greene has to say, then don’t go.
It’s that simple folks.
We don’t need to act like imbeciles and disrupt events like this.
