Another call for reparations came in. This time it’s from rapper T.I who suggested $44 trillion in reparations for what happened with slavery 150ish years ago.
Despite none of us today having anything to do with what happened all the way back then, it doesn’t seem to matter to those calling for reparations.
T.I.’s reparation suggestion was spoken during an interview on The Breakfast Club with Charlamagne tha God – the same person who interviewed Joe Biden when he belted out that famous quote, “you ain’t black.”
The rapper said “This is my goal… My goal is to get every black person in America that’s a descendant of slavery one million dollars, at least. That take about $44 trillion. So that’s my goal, so I’m working up on $44 trillion. Everything black people spend money on, it should be a black company that provides it… If we make up for 13% of this nation’s population, we should make up for 13% of the ownership of land. We should be representing at least 13%, 14% on boards [of] financial institutions, and so on and so forth. That should be persistent or consistent throughout, but it is not.”
He also called out black communities on education, suggesting that kids should be having more job aspirations than just entertainment or sports. It’s like everyone wants to be a rapper or basketball player, but where are the kids who want to be doctors, tradesmen, or anything else?
Here’s the interview for your pleasure.
