Certain indoor activities will soon require proof of vaccination in New York City once a new mandate goes through, as announced by Democrat Mayor Bill de Blasio.
The mandate will be called “Key to NYC Pass” and it’s designed to promote the vaccine and help prevent or reduce the recent increase in cases sparked by a Delta variant. The proof of vaccination mandate is set to begin in the middle of August as per de Blasio’s administration, per a report on NY Post:
The program is modeled after the vaccine passport programs rolled out in France and other European countries, according to de Blasio administration sources.
New Yorkers will be required to show either the state’ “Excelsior Pass,” the city’s new vaccine pass or Center for Disease Control’s paper vaccine card, as proof of vaccination, officials told The Post.
The Post further stated that those who are unvaccinated will not have the option to receive a test on the spot, which is something that city workers appear to have as an option instead of the vaccine.
As of now, this does not appear to affect outdoor activities or outdoor dining.
De Blasio previously expressed an interest in making more requirements and restrictions, and said: “We’ve got to shake people at this point and say, ‘Come on now.’ We tried voluntary. We could not have been more kind and compassionate. Free testing, everywhere you turn, incentives, friendly, warm embrace. The voluntary phase is over… It’s time for mandates, because it’s the only way to protect our people.”
It was just about a week ago when de Blasio announced his mandate for city workers.
A lot of people dislike Democrat Mayor Bill de Blasio, but always remember that politics and science do not mix. You should never make a health decision because of something a politician said. For example, I won’t refuse a vaccine because I hate a Democrat and I don’t like their rules or decisions.
This is science, this is not politics, and somehow we have mixed the two together and people are refusing to get their shot because they simply just hate everything Democrats stand for.
Remember folks, there was a time when most of the country TOGETHER would make fun of the anti-vaxxers. Vaccines work, there’s a reason we don’t see things like chicken pox anymore.
So while I don’t like Democrat politicians that much either, I am not going to let their attitude or behavior be part of my decision making.
Talk to your own family doctor and make the decision that is best for YOU.
Don’t listen to anyone in the media. Don’t listen to politicians. Listen to the real experts – the people who actually work in the medical field and grasp the science behind this madness.
And always remember, science doesn’t care about your politics, just like facts don’t care about your feelings.
