It’s Gov. Ron DeSantis vs President Joe Biden and businesses are smack in the middle of it.
DeSantis is challenging Biden’s vax mandate, claiming that people shouldn’t lose their jobs because of that decision. Biden’s recent mandate targeted businesses with over 100 employees and federal workers and says they must get the shot. DeSantis is now threatening to fine businesses $5,000 if fire anyone because of not listening to the Biden mandate.
WATCH DeSANTIS ON THE NEWS:
DeSantis says these fines could add up to millions if customers are also asked for proof of vax. Biden’s mandate requires employers with more than 100 employees to require the vax. Some mandates say only weekly testing is required. Either way, Biden’s mandate includes all federal workers of the executive branch, but DOES NOT INCLUDE CONGRESS – which is another reason people are ticked off. How do you mandate something for me, but not for thee?
Why does Congress get away with this? Most of them are older and in a high risk category anyway, if anyone needs the shot, it should be them. So how is that fair to every other American for the government to be mandating things for everyone else, but not live by the same rules and standards. We should stop fighting between Republicans and Democrats and start uniting against the maniacs in office. Unite as a country and stop letting these horrible people in Congress act like this towards us.
Also, what’s the difference if a company has 100 employees in a big building or ten employees in a small office? Putting a number on it makes literally no sense at all. A small office can still spread things out in public after work, it’s not like this
Further reported by Click Orlando:
DeSantis signed an executive order earlier this year banning so-called vaccine passports or requiring proof of vaccination and Florida lawmakers passed a new law that also includes a vaccine passport ban. That rule goes into effect on Sept. 16 and would be enforced by the Department of Health.
“It prevented private businesses from requiring proof of vaccination to just do normal things like go to a movie or go to a restaurant,” DeSantis said.
The governor said the executive order also applies to government agencies in the state.
“You will face a $5,000 fine for every single violation and so if you look at places here in Alachua County, like the city of Gainesville, I mean that’s millions and millions of dollars potentially in fines, Orange County (will see) many, many more than that,” DeSantis said.
Let’s take a look at this from another angle.
If we didn’t have social media and smart phones and spent all day arguing on the Internet. If Trump won and said get the shot.
Would we be done with the pandemic by now?
Trump has already publicly supported the vaccine and he and Melania got it.
So what if Trump was president and asked everyone to get it?
