Rep. Eric Swalwell suggested that God is a woman when he was having a discussion with MSNBC about Trump's impeachment. Swalwell was talking about trying to sway Republicans to vote for a Trump conviction, even bringing up Mitch McConnell saying it was more of a jurisdictional thing, and suggesting that God is a woman.

Quite a handful of folks on social media and those heavy on religion had a lot to say about his comments. So what did he say? Well, let's take a gander and watch the video to see him fart it out.

WATCH Eric Swalwell make the comment that stirred controversy:

This is one of the few recent stories involving Swalwell that does not involve a mention of a Chinese spy or flatulence, but it certainly gained some criticism, that's for sure.

Swalwell said to MSNBC's Nicole Wallace:
The choice was, do we chase those people, not knowing what they’re going to say, to the courts for years or do we go forward with the powerful, thundering case that we have? And also knowing that Mitch McConnell was already telling us that he believed the challenge was a jurisdictional one.

So we could have called God herself, and the Republicans weren’t going to be willing to convict, so we’re proud of the case we have put forward.

If you're wondering what else Swalwell is up to, then just imagine the loudest and most sweaty fart sound you can imagine. Add a dash of Chinese spy and you're on the way to victory.

Enjoy your day, folks. Try not to bang any Chinese spies in the parking lot on your way out.
