Republicans are pushing for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to pay a fine that she herself suggested for skipping the metal detectors that were installed at the Capitol after the January 6th incident.

It was just a few weeks ago when Pelosi suggested lawmakers who bypass the metal detectors be fined, but then Rep. Rodney Davis claims he watched Pelosi go into the House from a "forbidden entrance" this week.

Rep. Davis claims he witnessed Speaker Pelosi go through a "forbidden entrance on Thursday" according to Fox News:

"She opened the session on the floor, she came through what is known as the Speaker’s lobby," Davis said. "We are all told, one Republican was fined for doing this just yesterday, that you cannot walk through those entrances unless you are disabled."

The report shows that Pelosi and her office has not denied this happened when Fox News requested comments on the situation.

For reference on how much the fine may amount to, Rep. Louie Gohmert was fined $5,000 when he left the House floor to use the restroom and skipped the metal detectors.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw made a demand on Twitter, saying "Pay the fine Speaker Pelosi" and said to Fox News that "Pelosi should pay the fine because her action was "against her own rules."

Crenshaw added that the rule doesn't really make any sense, but she should follow it because it's HER rule.
