Here is something I didn't think we'd hear someone say, but it's 2021 and I guess anything is possible. This is a former SEC commissioner comparing the GameStop short squeeze of the stock market to what happened at the Capitol on January 6th. No seriously, she really makes the comparison.

We can compare any two things we wish, but that doesn't make it a good comparison in my humble opinion. Everyone is free to voice their own commentary on this below in the comments.

Here's the video:

And more details:
Former SEC Commissioner Laura Unger spoke Thursday on CNBC about actions she says regulators could take to prevent something like the social media-driven run on GameStop and other small value stocks from ever happening again.

Unger compared the stock market rush to buy video game retailer Game Stop to the riots earlier this month where protesters broke into the Capitol building.

"It puts a lot of questions about the integrity of the market, everyone is scratching their heads over this. What should happen? What can be done to stop this?" she asked about the ability of social media users to act in public together. " Not unlike what we saw on January 6 on the Capitol. If you don't have the police in there at the right time, things go a little crazy."

I must say, this is one of the worst comparisons I have heard in a very long time. I just don't know how you even compare the two.
