In what’s being touted as a radical leftist proposal, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has suggested that she would support banning the construction of new homes and new buildings which did not meet a “zero carbon footprint” by the year 2028, as reported on Fox News.

“What scares me is every time you go back to the scientists, they tell you two things: it’s worse than we thought and we have less time,” Warren told “Morning Joe.”

“That means we’ve got to be willing to do things — for example, like regulation. By 2028, no new buildings, no new houses without a zero carbon footprint,” she said, after being asked by host Joe Scarborough what her first move would be, if elected, to “change the tide” on climate change.

Also quoted by Western Journal, she said:

By 2030, trucks — light-duty trucks and cars, zero carbon footprint. By 2035, all production of electricity, zero carbon footprint…

Warren thinks that regulations and restrictions on both electricity and vehicles would help the United States reduce the carbon footprint by at least 70%.

Warren’s rhetoric in this has become a widespread issue among Democrats, particularly those of the progressive nature. They want to “go green” but some of the measures it would take to get to that point could be both expensive or unrealistic.

When asked about how to pay for very expensive plans, some Democrats don’t really have a working answer yet, and many might suggest raising taxes to do so.

Elizabeth Warren also suggested banning off-shore drilling.

She also referred to Trump as a “coal lobbyist.”
