Great news Americans! Not only are ya stuck in Afghanistan, but it might cost $2,000 or more to have you evacuated!
But wait, there’s more! Americans stranded in Afghanistan aren’t even guaranteed evacuation!
Such is the case as reported by Jerry Dunleavy who revealed the following information: “State Dept’s Overseas Security Advisory Council said Aug. 14: “Repatriation flights are not free, & passengers will be required to sign a promissory loan agreement & may not be eligible to renew their U.S. passports til the loan is repaid. Cost may be $2,000 or more per person.”
And don’t worry about getting home, the availability is limited. So if you’re not on the first flight, well then you may not be on a flight at all! It’s like you might just be expendable to the United States government as you’re in a situation that you probably didn’t ask for.
Dunleavy then linked directly to the OSAC government page here, which said:
GET THE #FJB SHIRT WHILE IT LASTS!
U.S. Citizenship: The U.S. Embassy will prioritize U.S. citizens for any charter flights. U.S. citizens with a non-citizen spouse or unmarried children (under age 21) may include their family members in their repatriation assistance requests but should indicate each family member’s citizenship and whether each has a valid passport and/or a U.S. visa.
If you are a non-U.S. citizen parent of a U.S. citizen minor, please indicate whether you have appropriate travel documentation to enter the United States (i.e. valid U.S. visa). If you do not have appropriate travel documentation, please identify an individual who currently has valid travel documentation who could accompany your U.S. citizen minor.
U.S. lawful permanent residents may submit a repatriation assistance request, and their request will be considered depending on availability.
Flight Costs: Repatriation flights are not free, and passengers will be required to sign a promissory loan agreement and may not be eligible to renew their U.S. passports until the loan is repaid. The cost may be $2,000USD or more per person.
Given the security conditions and reduced staffing, the Embassy’s ability to assist U.S. citizens in Afghanistan is extremely limited.
So basically, Joe Biden’s America is stranding our own people overseas and then telling them they can come home if they cover the cost of the flight, which could be $2,000.
Darn, they might be better off catching a flight into the UK and then flying home from there!
It’s like how dare you tell Americans they are going to be evacuated from Afghanistan because of the threatening situation, then you have the nerve to bill them for it.
Joe Biden’s poor planning and evacuation method is what put these folks all in danger and now the government might slap them with a $2,000+ bill just because they want to survive and get out of dodge.
I bet all those folks who voted for Joe Biden are covering their heads right now.
Thanks for nothing.
