Ilhan Omar booed in public, people yelled: ‘get out, get out, get out, get out’ and much worse

During a music festival in Minneapolis, a far-left Democrat, Ilhan Omar was booed on stage, and “get the f–k out” chants were heard as she went onstage. During the Somali’s singer Suldaan Seeraar appearance, a video showed the first Somali American elected to Congress Omar (D-Minn.) walking on stage along with her husband, Tim Mynett.

Immediately, the angry crowd at the Target Center started booing the two that took them more than a minute to stop. With a crowd drawing in mostly Somalis, the audience yelled “Get out” and some shouted “Get the f–k out of here.”
One member, Omar, of the progressive “Squad” that includes Bronx and Queens Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), tried to get the crowd to calm down. As Omar was gesturing with her hands to the crowd to settle down she was heard saying, “OK, OK, OK, OK, OK, we don’t have all night,” as shown in the video.
The video is cut off at the 14th second, right when the boos start, as it also shows Omar taking stage posted on her Twitter account.
Still, it is uncertain what sparked the reaction versus Omar, but the Republican challenging the two-term incumbent pointed out that her comments made regarding the LGBTQ issues and her objection to the Supreme Court’s recent decision to overturn Roe v. Wade might have made a mark.
“This’s what she gets for trading her Godly, Conservative values for the sinful LGBTQIA’s & the promiscuous abortionists.” The heckles could have been a reaction to commentary Omar made while at a town hall event – where she mentioned that she endured more violence in her adopted home state than in a Kenyan refugee camp.
The congresswoman said, “For four years [in the camp] I did not witness that kind of violence … My first year in Minnesota I both saw a person shot at Peavey Park, dead on the floor, three weeks after my father and I arrived in Minneapolis. Six months later I watched the Minneapolis police put 38 bullets into the body of a mentally disabled Somali immigrant who didn’t speak English.
“So [for] six years I had the privilege of not seeing any violence until I moved to Minnesota.” With a history of anti-Semitic commentary, Omar is one of the favorites to top the third term as a representative of her district, which covers the whole city of Minneapolis. However, many people feel she is not effective and a big change is needed.
